Job summary

Sterling Engineering, Inc. in Manteno, IL is seeking a Quality Assurance Technician to perform testing and inspections on food products, ingredients, packaging, and production lines to ensure compliance with quality and food safety standards.

This role will conduct routine quality checks, communicate concerns to production and other departments, and maintain accurate records. Approximately 90% of the time will be spent on quality testing on the production floor.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Experience in food manufacturing, bakery, quality assurance or related field preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to follow GMP and QA procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine quality and food safety checks on production lines and document results.
• Inspect product weights, measurements, packaging, labels, date codes, and shelf life.
• Test incoming ingredients and production products for quality standards; conduct gluten and allergen testing as required.
• Calibrate and maintain QA instruments and equipment; pull product retains for validation programs.
