Job summary

CG Family Foods in Agawam, MA is seeking a Quality Assurance Technician to support our food manufacturing operations. You will perform routine quality checks, inspect packaging and weights, and monitor GMP/CCP adherence to ensure safety and high quality.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent education, or 6 months to 1 year of manufacturing/QA experience.
• Familiarity with food manufacturing operations, GMP requirements, and quality control practices.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain accurate records.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Effective communication and ability to work with multiple departments.
• Proactive mindset with attention to detail and adherence to procedures.
• Ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a busy production environment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in varying temperatures.
• English/Spanish bilingual communication is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine quality checks on ingredients, in-process products, and finished goods.
• Inspect packaging, labels, weights, and temperatures for compliance with specifications.

In this hands-on position, you'll work alongside our production team to help maintain food safety standards, monitor product quality, and ensure our manufacturing processes meet established guidelines.

A Look at Your Day-to-Day

• Perform routine quality checks on ingredients, products during manufacturing, and finished goods.

• Inspect packaging, labels, product weights, and temperatures to confirm compliance with established specifications.

• Monitor production activities to ensure adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Critical Control Point (CCP) requirements.

• Evaluate product appearance, consistency, and other quality characteristics through visual and sensory inspections.

• Identify potential quality issues, document findings, and assist with corrective actions or product holds when necessary.

• Review manufacturing records, batch reports, and quality documentation to ensure information is complete and accurate.

• Participate in sanitation verification activities, documentation reviews, and environmental monitoring processes.

• Communicate quality concerns to production personnel and collaborate on solutions that support food safety and operational efficiency.

• Maintain organized and accurate quality control records, reports, and electronic tracking systems.

What Will Help You Succeed

• An associate degree or equivalent education, or approximately 6 months to 1 year of relevant experience in manufacturing or quality assurance.

• Familiarity with food manufacturing operations, GMP requirements, and quality control practices.

• Strong organizational skills and the ability to maintain accurate records.

• Comfort using Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

• Effective communication skills and the ability to work cooperatively with different departments.

• A proactive mindset with strong attention to detail and a commitment to following established procedures.

• Ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a busy production environment.

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in environments with varying temperatures.

• English/Spanish bilingual communication skills are preferred but not required.
