Job summary

AHEAD is seeking a Quality Control Technician in Libertyville, IL to inspect and test products, document deviations, and collaborate across teams to ensure quality standards are met. The role emphasizes proactive problem solving and continuous learning.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED and at least two years of mechanical inspection experience, plus familiarity with computer hardware or networking. The position is a first-shift, on-site role with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or 3 years related on-the-job experience.
• Two years of on-the-job experience in mechanical inspection or a related field.
• Two years working knowledge of computer hardware or networking.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Detail- and process-oriented with strong teamwork and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Review and make appropriate decisions based on workload.
• Verify product in accordance with documentation, AHEAD Method, AHEAD Defaults, and customer requirements.
• Perform routine inspections of electronic sub-assemblies, cable, and hardware assemblies.
• Document deviations from process, product, form, fit and/or function.
• Communicate the deviation and resolution clearly to stakeholders.
• Resolve minor deviations before moving the product to the next stage.
• Create product or process standards with respective departments.
• Ensure documentation captures product amendments and conformance.
• Learn new or custom product standards and ensure conformance.
• Ensure product adherence to established standards of strength, quality, and endurance.
• Perform testing of completed products using provided test equipment and software.
