Job summary

Sonnax Transmission Company, part of Marmon Holdings and Berkshire Hathaway, seeks a Quality Assurance Technician to ensure product quality and process control across the lifecycle, from design to post-delivery support.

The role applies rootcause analysis, statistical methods, and continuous improvement to improve efficiency and reliability, working with cross-functional teams and suppliers as needed.

Qualifications

• Requires Associate degree in engineering or an equivalent technical field.
• Thorough knowledge of products, production processes, statistical control, design, and testing procedures.
• Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma methodologies; ASQ certification preferred.
• Knowledge of metrology and GD&T preferred.
• ISO9001, TS16949 knowledge preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Engages in root cause analysis and corrective actions to support quality objectives.
• Investigates product nonconformances identified through the Customer Feedback system, WIP notifications, and corrective action systems.
• Provides technical review and analysis of product nonconformances and performance metrics as part of cross-functional teams.
• Tests and inspects product at various stages of manufacturing to support quality at the source.
• Compiles and examines statistical data to determine and maintain quality and reliability.
• Reviews practices, procedures, and processes to identify opportunities to improve efficiency and safety.
• Identifies systemic performance issues and implements corrective solutions with proper closure in the corrective action system.
• Supports on-site assessment of Sonnax suppliers and collaborates on supplier quality and continuous improvement plans.
• Writes technical reports and documents/maintains quality standards.
