Position Overview

A Team Member in the Quality Assurance Technician position will complete and document quality control audits, monitor adherence to USDA regulations verifying HACCP and SSOP tasks, and enforce hygiene behaviors. Individuals must ensure accurate and timely data collection from all processes in the plant to aid operations and strive for continuous improvement. The second shift hours are from 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm.

Responsibilities

• Complete and document primal and sub-primal quality control audits, including weights, measurements, and visual assessments of raw pork products.
• Release or retain products based on audit results, informing production supervision.
• Monitor adherence to USDA regulations by verifying HACCP and SSOP tasks.
• Perform monitoring and verification tasks as prescribed in HACCP and SSOP plans, including enforcing employee hygiene behaviors.
• Conduct various QA inspections, including boneless meat inspections, temperature checks, X-ray and metal detector checks, chemical verifications, packaging inspections, animal handling audits, and process verifications.
• Complete tasks on time to meet goals.
• Collaborate positively with co-workers, supervisors, and managers, prioritizing team success.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in a related field preferred.
• Two years of meat facility experience preferred.
• Trustworthy and highly ethical.
• Self-motivated with minimal supervision, with a strong work record and excellent attendance.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Willing to work in warm and cold environments.
• Willing to work 40-60 hours per week, including some weekends.
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs repeatedly.
• Open to feedback and able to work objectively with others.
