Job description

Quality Assurance Technician - 12 Hour - Night Shift

Overview

This role involves performing testing and auditing to ensure products meet company specifications, supporting problem-solving related to product quality, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to uphold food safety, quality, and GMP standards.

Responsibilities
  1. Monitor and collect data on all products, ensuring compliance with specifications and inputting data into the lab management system.
  2. Maintain a clean and safe work environment, calibrate test equipment, and follow lab SOPs.
  3. Troubleshoot manufacturing issues, including risk assessments, deviations, retesting, and rejection of raw materials and finished goods.
  4. Oversee sanitation, start-up, and performance of production equipment.
  5. Conduct environmental monitoring, routine audits, and support corrective actions.
  6. Communicate technical information during shift meetings and with team members.
  7. Investigate and test to improve processes and products regularly.
  8. Support ongoing projects related to quality, food safety, cost reduction, and R&D.
  9. Promote a positive team culture and personal development.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Certifications like HACCP, PCQI, Auditing, ASQ, or FSSC 22000 are a plus.
  • 1+ years relevant experience if degreed; 3+ years if not.
  • Effective communication skills and computer literacy (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge of statistical process control, GMPs, food safety, and lab practices.
  • Ability to perform routine testing, interpret documents, and work safely in a loud environment.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
