Job summary

Amcor is seeking a Quality Control Inspector to join its manufacturing team in Texas. You will perform quality control inspections, tests, and record observations at different production stages to ensure products meet specifications.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, ability to read calipers and micrometers, and the capacity to work a 12-hour night shift. You will follow GMP/ISO standards and collaborate with LeadQA and Shift Supervisor.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED or related experience.
  • Quality background in measurement techniques preferred.
  • Strong communication and ability to work independently.
  • Able to read calipers, micrometers, and digital indicators.
  • Able to work 12-hour night shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect products at various production stages.
  • Record observations and suggest process improvements.
  • Follow safety, ISO and GMP policies.
  • Perform Elmendorf tear tests and dart drop tests.
  • Maintain housekeeping and assist where needed.
  • Report non-conformances to QA leads.

About the role

Key Job Accountabilities

As part of the you’ll be responsible for the inspection of products at different stages of production. Record observations and may make recommendations for improving processes.

  • Follow and support all Company safety, ISO and GMP policies
  • Conduct Elmendorf tear tests as needed
  • Conduct dart drop tests as required
  • Gauge film using Measure Tech as required
  • Perform quality checks on all lines and take appropriate action on non-conforming product
  • Report non-conformances to Lead Quality Auditor and/or Shift Supervisor
  • Fill in for Lead Quality Auditor as requested
  • Maintain housekeeping and other tasks as assigned by the Lead Quality Auditor or Quality Manager.
  • May assist in other areas or perform other duties as required by fluctuating business needs.
  • Must be able to work 12 hours night shift.
Knowledge/Skills/Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Quality background in measurement techniques and analysis preferred.
  • Possesses well-developed communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The employee must demonstrate the ability to work independently, with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work in a high paced and multi-task environment.
  • Ability to operate all lab equipment.
  • Ability to read, write and follow written or verbal instructions.
  • Ability to read a caliper, micrometer, digital indicator and scale.
