Job description

We are currently seeking a Quality Technician to help us ensure that non-conforming products do not continue through the production process and are not distributed to customers. In this role, you will conduct routine quality inspections throughout production, including in-process and final inspections. During these inspections, you will use a variety of precision measuring tools to ensure that products follow specifications. You will also perform equipment calibrations and perform workstation audits. Applicants should have some manufacturing experience.

• Drive Quality at the Source through providing work stations with the Quality at the Source necessities:
  • Outline critical quality aspects and understand process capability and control.
  • Create the appropriate required standards through communication with customers and suppliers.
  • Provide all necessary quality tools and controls and create Work Instructions that detail the above.
• Maintain Quality at the Source through providing general quality controls:
  • Audit the quality of incoming material, finished product, and work stations inspection process.
  • Support line supervision with line calls.
  • Participate with internal and external customers and vendors in resolving problems by investigating complaints, collecting necessary data, and solving complaints based on established root cause.
• Facilitate Problem Solving Teams:
  • Lead improvement projects following defined problem-solving checklist including problem definition.
  • Analyze data using control charts, quality data, root cause diagrams.
  • Communicate status of problem resolution via intranet Feedback Program.
• Communicate all the above activities to supervision and work stations as appropriate.
• Support the standardization of the department through the creation and revision of procedural documentation.

Qualifications

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong presentation, negotiation, and confrontational skills.
• Knowledge and utilization of basic PC skills.
• Basic Simonton product and process knowledge.
• Must successfully pass color blindness test.
