Position Information

The School of Environmental and Biological Sciences, located on the George H. Cook Campus, is one of the largest schools of Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey. We pursue excellence in research, teaching, and outreach in areas of study that address the biological spectrum from molecules to ecosystems. Our emphasis is on both the fundamental sciences and the social and human dimensions. Posting Summary	Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Quality Assurance Technician for the Rutgers Food Innovation Center within the School of Environmental and Biological Sciences. The Quality Assurance Technician will support client product manufacturing to ensure production is running in a safe manner following food safety regulations and guidelines. Among the key duties of the position are the following: Calibrates thermometers, scales and pH meters. Pre-operational inspections of production rooms, before production. ATP and Allergen Swabbing. Assists with pH measurement, temperature and weight collection during production. Documents all data being tested. Internal Audits and Inspections in environmental monitoring. Other Quality Assurance Duties as assigned. This position resides at the Food Innovation Center in Bridgeton, NJ (Cumberland County).

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience	Bachelor's degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Minimal 1-2 years working in a QA/QC technician or Operator QA capacity in a food related business.
Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities	Ability to demonstrate & enforce GMPs. Must be able to adhere to Good Documentation Practices. Must be detail oriented and able to address food safety and quality issues in a thorough and professional manner.

Physical Demands and Work Environment	Ability to work in wet, cold, hot and/or slippery environments. The candidate must be able to work in various temperature- controlled rooms which may be hot (85+ degrees) or cold (50 degrees).
Special Conditions	Time allowed for this position is limited to a maximum of 19.9 hours per week, averaged over each quarter (must be flexible on number of hours worked in a given time-period based on the needs of all parties involved in a project). Must have flexibility of hours per day.
