Job summary

Penmac Staffing Services, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Assurance Technician for a food manufacturing facility in Minnesota. The role supports food safety, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance through testing, inspections, documentation, and process monitoring.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, or a related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor HACCP compliance and food safety programs.
• Perform product sampling, line inspections, audits, laboratory testing, and calibrations.
• Document test results and communicate quality deviations to management.
• Review data, identify trends, and assist with corrective actions.
• Investigate root causes of product defects and support corrective and preventive action programs.
• Audit laboratory testing procedures and ensure compliance with quality standards.
• Review microbiological testing results and sanitation inspection reports.
• Coordinate product hold and disposition activities as directed by quality management.
• Maintain laboratory supplies, equipment, and testing records.
• Utilize systems such as SAP, PLM, QDMS, and Minitab to support quality processes.
• Promote a culture of food safety and quality throughout the facility.

Quality Assurance Technician (2nd Shift)

Pay: $24.45 per hour

Shift: 2nd Shift

Job Type: Full-Time

Penmac Staffing is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Assurance Technician for a food manufacturing facility. This position is responsible for supporting food safety, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance through testing, inspections, documentation, and process monitoring. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail and an interest in food science, microbiology, laboratory operations, or quality systems.

Requirements for the Quality Assurance Technician

• Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, or a related field preferred
• Previous experience in food manufacturing, laboratory testing, or quality assurance preferred
• Knowledge of HACCP, food safety programs, and microbiological contaminants
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel
• Knowledge of statistics, databases, and quality systems preferred
• Ability to communicate effectively with team members and management
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to work in a cool, wet, and damp manufacturing environment
