Job summary

CMC provides opportunities in the steel, construction reinforcement and ground stabilization industries, with training and a supportive team that helps you grow in your career. Whether you work in an office or on the plant floor, you’ll receive hands-on training and backup from your peers to excel in your role.

You’ll participate in safety programs, monitor production processes, collect samples, perform tests, and communicate results to ensure quality and compliance.

Qualifications

• 12-hour rotating shifts, including weekends/holidays.
• Strong teamwork and cross-functional collaboration.
• Excellent work ethic, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
• Previous quality control experience preferred.
• Ability to work in non-climate controlled environment.
• Basic math skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft applications is an asset.
• Able to lift and move objects over 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Participates in CMC Safety Programs and proactively upholds the CMC Safety Culture
• Monitors the production process and collects hot-rolled steel samples as needed.
• Performs physical and dimensional tests on steel samples.
• Compare test results to material specifications.
• Performs calibration verification on test equipment.
• Effectively communicate with others about possible production issues, concerns, and needs
• Ensure equipment inspection reports are filled out each shift
• Responsible for continuous improvement such as suggesting improvements in work methods and procedures
• Ability to troubleshoot work related problems using job knowledge, experience, and by communicating with others
• Responsible for daily housekeeping duties including but not limited to immediate work area

What You'll Do

What You'll Need

• Able to work well and efficiently in teams and cross-functional activities
• Must have an excellent work ethic, attention to detail, communication and organizational skills
• Previous experience in Quality Control preferred
• Ability to work in non-climate controlled environment
• Basic Math Skills
• Skills with Microsoft applications (Outlook, Work, Excel, etc.) is an asset
• Moving, carrying, lifting, objects in excess of 50 lbs

Your Education

• High School Diploma or GED preferred
