Essential Functions
  • Must be capable of working on multiple projects, managing multiple tasks simultaneously and be capable of working with deadlines and due dates.
  • Must be self motivated and capable of working with limited supervision.
  • Will take quality checks of all the products being produced; i.e. fabrication, welding, assemblies, galvanizing, etc.
  • May need to assist Supervision with training of the employees on the production documentation and how to build products per documentation; i.e. drawings, schematics, assembly and inspection plans.
  • Must have good problem solving skills; be capable of devising solutions to quality and production issues by making data driven decisions.
  • Must have good writing skills; be capable of writing reports and accurately recording and reporting quality inspection data.
  • Must be capable of basic arithmetic, demonstrated knowledge of the ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, use fractions, decimals, and calculate averages and percentages.
  • Must be capable of organizing, working on and supporting teams, must be willing to take team leadership roles as needed.
  • Must have good communication skills; be capable of interacting with all levels of plant staff.
  • Must be capable of following written and verbal instructions
  • Must assist with calibration within the company. Gather tools due for calibration. Audit calibration records for the tools located. May need to serve as Alternate UL Representative for the facilities requiring it. May need to calibration tools.
  • Must have a very good work ethic, must be team oriented with a positive, supportive outlook, and dedicated to quality and continual improvement of both the product and the process.
  • Must understand that this position carries a great deal of independent thinking and individual responsibility.
  • Must be capable of performing other related duties and tasks as needed under direction of Supervisor.
  • Must be able to understand and interpret blueprints; technical and service bulletins; production specifications; inspection plans and process procedures and work instructions.
  • Continually audit production documentation; i.e. IPIs, travelers, bill of materials, routings, work instructions, inspections and schematics. Assist in keeping the documents up to date, revise and restructure as needed.
  • May need to understand product structures; i.e. bill of materials and routings.
  • May need to be able to take a product and break it down step by step, then create and document work instructions and or inspection plans for products being built.
  • May need to be able to work with Engineering and Supervisor to take a product and break it down by bill of material structure and routing information, then restructure, revise and create what is necessary to lean out the product.
  • Must be familiar and cognizant of safety rules, regulations and guidelines as dictated by company policy.
  • Must have basic computer skills; i.e. e-mail, word processing, spreadsheets, and be willing to train in paperless and Mapics.
  • Must have some working knowledge of measurements using various measuring and gauging equipment.
  • Must be able to handle various physical requirements of the position.
  • Must maintain a good attendance record in accordance with company policy.
Describe Critical Skills, Experience, Training, Education, or Licenses Required

Receives on the job training. Some basic weld knowledge is required. Advanced weld knowledge is required for the trainer positions of the weld product. Advanced electrical assembly knowledge is required for the trainer position of the electrical product.

  • Achieving Tech Level I requires successful completion of greater than half of the required training categories.
  • Achieving Tech Level II can be achieved by successfully completing greater than half of the NDT required training categories. Or by completing one or more of the other four categories in the Level II section.

In order to perform QA training roles (electrical, welding, or other) it’s preferred that an individual have 3 or more years of work experience and be proficient in building the product they would be training.

Machines, Tools, Equipment and Personal Protective Equipment Used

This position requires use of tape measure; micrometers; calipers; mill meter; profile tester; and ordinary hand tools. This position requires safety glasses with side shields, steel-toed shoes, hearing protection. Gloves may be requested on occasion.
