Job summary

Somafina in Utah is seeking a QA Supervisor to drive day-to-day quality operations on Swing Shift. You will lead a team of Quality Control Technicians, review deviations, and ensure products meet federal and state regulations and Somafina's high quality standards.

Work with other departments to solve problems, maintain compliance, and prepare data for QA reviews. Reports to the Quality Manager.

Qualifications

• Bilingual in English and Spanish required.
• High school diploma or GED with at least 1 year of related experience or equivalent.

About The Role

As our QA Supervisor, you'll be the driving force behind day-to-day quality operations on Swing Shift. You'll lead a team of Quality Control Technicians, review and approve deviations, and make sure everything we produce meets federal and state regulations as well as Somafina's own high bar for quality. You'll partner closely with other departments to solve problems as they come up, and you'll play a key role in making sure our products are right - from the first step to the last. This position reports to the Quality Manager.

What You'll Do

Lead & Support the QC Team

• Oversee and manage the daily work of Quality Control Technicians
• Step in to provide hands-on coverage when a QC Technician is out
• Build a team-oriented culture focused on hitting department and company goals

Own Quality & Compliance

• Make sure product specifications, company policies, and procedures are consistently met
• Review and approve deviations
• Review Batch Production Records for regulatory and policy compliance, and log data into company software for traceability
• Conduct internal inspections and SOP reviews
• Ensure every employee follows cGMP requirements throughout the facility
• Support Quality Engineering by gathering data for Product Quality Reviews (PQRs) on TGA products

Collaborate Across The Company

• Partner with production and customer service to keep projects moving and compliant with federal regulations
• Work with managers across manufacturing operations on all things quality
• Troubleshoot issues and concerns with other departments as they arise

• Support company and department safety programs and initiatives
• Take on other duties as assigned by your manager

What You Bring

• Bilingual in English and Spanish required
• High school diploma or GED, plus at least 1 year of related experience/training (or an equivalent combination of education and experience)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Sharp attention to detail and solid math skills
• Ability to follow instructions and make sound decisions within company guidelines
• Excellent organizational, multi-tasking, and time-management abilities

Nice to Have

• Knowledge of GMPs and experience in the nutraceutical or dietary supplement industry
• Familiarity with Dietary Supplement GMPs
• Auditing experience
• Experience enforcing SOPs and product specifications

A Few Physical Details

This role is active - you'll be on your feet and moving throughout the shift. It regularly involves standing, walking, sitting, and using your hands to handle materials and equipment, along with reaching, bending, and occasional climbing or balancing. You'll need to be able to lift up to 20 lbs. occasionally and 10 lbs. frequently. Good vision (close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception) is important, and you may occasionally work in a dusty or noisy environment.
