The Keystone Distinction Group is seeking a Quality Assurance Supervisor for the Roanoke area. The role oversees QA on the production floor and in the laboratory, ensuring products meet food safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.

You will lead QA staff, evaluate testing results, support audits, and drive process improvements to maintain consistent product quality. Overnight schedule with potential weekend/holiday coverage may be required.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or comparable education in biology, chemistry, food science, or related field.
• 1–3 years of relevant manufacturing/QA experience.
• Experience with lab testing in a manufacturing setting.
• Ability to stand, walk, lift up to 25 pounds; overnight shift availability.

Quality Assurance Supervisor – Night Shift

Beverage Manufacturing | Roanoke Area, VA

Base Salary: $65,000–$75,000, depending on experience
Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 6:00 PM–6:00 AM. Additional flexibility for weekend and holiday coverage may be required based on operational needs.

About the Opportunity

We are recruiting a Quality Assurance Supervisor for a confidential beverage manufacturer in the Roanoke area.

This role leads quality personnel on the production floor and in the laboratory, helping ensure products meet food safety, quality, and regulatory requirements. You’ll develop your team, evaluate testing results, support audits, and work with plant departments to improve processes and maintain consistent product quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead QA personnel, set daily priorities, and communicate expectations for quality, safety, and timely completion of work.

• Develop team members through coaching, training, and performance feedback.

• Partner with Production and other departments to address quality concerns and maintain food safety standards.

• Oversee assigned quality management programs, including documentation, training, and internal audits.

• Support compliance with regulatory, certification, customer, and product specifications.

• Review laboratory results for accuracy, investigate exceptions, and identify unfavorable trends.

• Recommend process improvements based on testing data and quality performance.

• Prepare for and assist with internal audits and external regulatory, certification, and customer assessments.

• Lead continuous improvement efforts that strengthen product quality and customer satisfaction.

Required Qualifications

• Associate degree or comparable college or technical education, with a background in biology, chemistry, food science, health sciences, or a related discipline.

• One to three years of relevant work experience.

• Manufacturing experience and knowledge of food industry practices.

• Familiarity with laboratory equipment and testing in a manufacturing environment.

• Strong analytical, math, and problem‑solving skills.

• Effective communication, organization, and team development skills.

• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced production setting.

• Availability to work the stated overnight schedule, with flexibility for additional coverage.

• Ability to stand for extended periods, walk the production floor, climb stairs, and lift up to 25 pounds.

Preferred Qualifications

• Degree or relevant experience in biology, chemistry, food science, or health sciences.

• Knowledge of beverage processing and sanitation practices.

• Familiarity with High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), Gas Chromatography (GC), and microbiological or aseptic techniques.

• Experience with Microsoft Office, statistical software, SAP, and Kronos.

• Experience supporting food safety certifications, quality systems, and audits.

Work Environment

Work takes place in laboratory and manufacturing areas that may involve elevated noise, wet conditions, and significant temperature variations.
