Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Develops and analyzes data to determine standards and reliability of finished product.
  • Reviews rejections from Quality inspection points and participates in PMRT activities.
  • Formulates and maintains quality control objectives with production to maximize quality and reduce costs.
  • Directs inspectors, NDT and testing to ensure control over materials, facilities and products.
  • Plans, promotes and organizes training on product quality and reliability.
  • Investigates customer quality complaints and coordinates corrective actions.
  • Interviews and selects candidates within guidelines; trains and coaches staff.
  • Ensures compliance with HSE policies and procedures; trains staff on safety requirements.
  • Supervises QA staff and lab teams; manages performance evaluations and disciplinary actions.

Job description

SCHEDULE: Monday - Thursday (2:30pm - 1:00am)

COMPENSATION: $75000.00 - $90000.00 annually

SUMMARY:

Plans, coordinates and directs quality control programs designed to ensure continuous production of products consistent with established standards

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develops and analyzes statistical data and product specifications to determine present standards and established proposed quality and reliability expectancy of finished product.
  • Reviews rejections originated by Quality inspection points on the router as part of PMRT preliminary review and participates in the PMRT activities.
  • Formulates and maintains quality control objectives and coordinates objectives with production procedures in cooperation with other plant managers to maximize product and minimize costs.
  • Directs workers engaged in inspection, NDT and testing activities to ensure continuous control over materials, facilities and products.
  • Plans, promotes, and organizes training activities related to product quality and reliability.
  • Investigates and adjusts customer complaints regarding quality.
  • Makes staffing recommendations and reassignment of duties as required
  • Confers with Inspectors and Lab Techs to determine the status of assigned projects.
  • Mentors Inspectors and Lab Techs to meet customer expectations, and develop organization skills.
  • Responsible for performance management of quality assurance department staff, including but not limited to performance evaluations, compensation reviews, employee coaching, directing and disciplinary actions.
  • Interviews and selects candidates within legal and company guidelines.
  • Identifies training needs of assigned employees. Ensures that employees are trained according to their identified needs.
  • Provides training on departmental procedures, policies, and practices ensuring training records are maintained as required.
  • Trains employees on safety and environmental job requirements.
  • Adheres and implements company HSE policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Ensure all people placed under their assigned area of responsibility, or all persons who may be affected by equipment or processes placed under their responsibility are complying with the rules and regulations set forth by Federal, Local and State government, and LISI Aerospace policies, procedures and plans.
  • All employees are responsible for attending all training provided and for adhering to all HSE procedures, policies, and plans, conforming to reporting requirements, and safe operating procedures at all times.
  • All employees are required to bring any known or suspected nonconformance for all company procedures or legal requirements to management’s attention immediately.
  • Continually seek opportunities to improve our HSE performance by establishing objectives and targets, measuring progress, and reporting our results.
  • Implements and suggests waste elimination initiatives specifically related to the function and department such as recycling opportunities and elimination of paper waste
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Supervises Inspectors, NDT personnel, QA Test Certification, QA Admin and Lab Techs. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of planning and scheduling functions. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include but are not limited to interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Education and/or Experience
  • Associates Degree and/or equivalent experience / combined education with 4 years professional experience, or 2 years of related experience with a Bachelors degree.
Mathematical Skills

Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have basic mainframe computer systems and familiar with Spreadsheet and Word Processing software.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
