Job summary

Pacific Cheese, Co. seeks a Quality Assurance Supervisor to lead quality programs and supervise staff at our Nevada facility. The role oversees audits, product release, and documentation to ensure compliance with quality standards.

You will coordinate with internal departments, suppliers, and customers on quality requirements, manage QA Hold and certificate processes, and drive continual improvement across QA activities.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work in a multi-tasking environment and be familiar with quality assurance management and standards.
• Experience with computers and designated software programs relevant to job functions.
• Ability to supervise others and interact positively with team members and the organization.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with departments, suppliers and external customers on quality issues and requirements.
• Review in-line QA reports, production reports and testing results.
• Organize internal audits and prepare for external audits.
• Coordinate product release and Certificate of Compliance and analysis for customers.
• Manage the incoming material control program.
• Oversee QA Hold program for raw materials, production rejects, and returns.
• Coordinate processes with customer complaints.
• Monitor the sanitation program and department adherence.
• Hire and train employees; plan and assign work; appraise performance.
• Communicate test results with QA management and other departments.

We're currently hiring Quality Assurance Supervisor Monday-Friday (occasional overtime).

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY:(Summary of job duties)

Provides advice and assistance when problems or questions about the job or departmental operations arises, demonstrates excellent performance in the execution of duties and responsibilities. Supervises departmental staffs. Coordinates with other departments, suppliers and external customers on quality issues and requirements. Areas of responsibilities include (but not limited to) product release and preparation of Certificate of Compliance , in-line quality assurance audits , incoming material control , QA Hold program of raw materials and products , internal and external audits , customer complaint and sanitation program.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Coordinates with other departments, suppliers and external customers on quality issues and requirements.
• Reviews in-line quality assurance reports, production reports, testing reports and other departmental reports.
• Organizes internal audits and prepares for external audits.
• Coordinates product release and Certificate of Compliance and Analysis for customers.
• Manages the incoming material control program.
• Manages the QA Hold program of raw materials, production rejects, and customer returns.
• Coordinates the process with customer complaints.
• Monitors the sanitation program through the department personnel.
• Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include hiring and training of employees; planning and assigning work; appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
• Communicates with QA management, Production, Warehouse, and personnel of other departments on test results and if any result deviation.
• Monitors laboratory activities and supplies.
• Attends all company required trainings
• Performs other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

Must be able to work effectively in a multi-tasking work environment and be familiar with quality assurance management and standard. Must be experienced working with computers and designated software programs as required to perform job functions. Must be able to work independently with minimum supervision and have the ability to interact positively with others within the department and the organization. Must be able to effectively supervise others. Must have understanding of company and customer specifications and ensure proper documentation.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s Degree in scientific discipline (Dairy/Food science preferred), and with 3 to 5 years above relevant work experience in food industry. AA plus additional applicable experience in lieu of Bachelor’s acceptable.
