Job summary

Pacific Cheese is seeking a Quality Assurance Supervisor to lead the QA team in our Reno, NV facility. The role emphasizes ensuring compliance with quality standards, coordinating audits, and managing materials and product release processes.

Bachelor's in dairy/food science preferred with 3–5 years in the food industry. We value experienced leaders capable of training staff, maintaining documentation, and driving continuous quality improvements while adhering to safety and regulatory

Qualifications

• Must have strong knowledge of quality assurance management processes.
• Experience supervising a team in a manufacturing setting is required.
• Proficiency with standard QC documentation and data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance and support in daily department operations.
• Supervise departmental staff; hire, train, and evaluate performance.
• Coordinate with other departments, suppliers, and customers on quality issues.
• Oversee product release and Certificate of Compliance processes.
• Lead in-line quality audits and raw material control programs.
• Manage QA Hold program for raw materials, rejects, and returns.
• Supervisor sanitation program across department personnel.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable laws.
• Communicate test results and deviations to QA management and production teams.
• Attend required trainings and perform additional duties as assigned.

We're currently hiring Quality Assurance Supervisor Monday-Friday (occasional overtime).

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY:(Summary of job duties)

Provides advice and assistance when problems or questions about the job or departmental operations arises, demonstrates excellent performance in the execution of duties and responsibilities. Supervises departmental staffs. Coordinates with other departments, suppliers and external customers on quality issues and requirements. Areas of responsibilities include (but not limited to) product release and preparation of Certificate of Compliance , in-line quality assurance audits , incoming material control , QA Hold program of raw materials and products , internal and external audits , customer complaint and sanitation program.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Coordinates with other departments, suppliers and external customers on quality issues and requirements.
• Reviews in-line quality assurance reports, production reports, testing reports and other departmental reports.
• Organizes internal audits and prepares for external audits.
• Coordinates product release and Certificate of Compliance and Analysis for customers.
• Manages the incoming material control program.
• Manages the QA Hold program of raw materials, production rejects, and customer returns.
• Coordinates the process with customer complaints.
• Monitors the sanitation program through the department personnel.
• Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include hiring and training of employees; planning and assigning work; appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
• Communicates with QA management, Production, Warehouse, and personnel of other departments on test results and if any result deviation.
• Monitors laboratory activities and supplies.
• Attends all company required trainings
• Performs other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

Must be able to work effectively in a multi-tasking work environment and be familiar with quality assurance management and standard. Must be experienced working with computers and designated software programs as required to perform job functions. Must be able to work independently with minimum supervision and have the ability to interact positively with others within the department and the organization. Must be able to effectively supervise others. Must have understanding of company and customer specifications and ensure proper documentation.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s Degree in scientific discipline (Dairy/Food science preferred), and with 3 to 5 years above relevant work experience in food industry. AA plus additional applicable experience in lieu of Bachelor’s acceptable.
