Job summary

Packrite HP in High Point, NC is seeking a Quality Manager to lead our quality programs and mentor teams in a manufacturing setting.

You will drive quality audits, continuous improvement, and the ISO 9001:2015 QMS across the plant, partnering with leadership to remove barriers and improve metrics. A 2–4 year degree and 3–5 years of quality analytics are required; Six Sigma Belt is a plus. Up to 20% travel.

Qualifications

  • 2- or 4-year college degree or equivalent experience in a quality role.
  • 3–5 years of experience with analytics in quality.
  • ISO 9001 and GFSI knowledge.
  • Six Sigma Black Belt is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all aspects of continual improvement, corrective actions, and driving quality behaviors.
  • Manage customer Quality Audits and internal process audits.
  • Maintain ISO 9001:2015 QMS status and certification, recertification, etc.
  • Provide technical (quality tool) and statistical insight to teams.
  • Collaborate with plant leaders on quality issues and drive action.
  • Support Lean/Six Sigma, 5S, and GMP initiatives.

Essential Functions

Provide the highest level of internal and external customer service while maintaining exemplary relationships with customers and suppliers.

  • Ensure compliance with Quality requirements and responsible for Quality documentation.
  • Supports the Director of Quality in managing customer Quality Audits and process-oriented Internal Audits
  • Responsible for leading all aspects of continual improvement, corrective actions, and driving appropriate behaviors/practices
  • Maintain/Achieve ISO 9001 :2015 QMS status and certification, recertification, etc.
  • Risk Based Plan Continuation
  • Provide collaborative communications and guidance with plant leaders and associates on quality issues.
  • Participate/Lead 5S, Six Sigma, and Lean manufacturing initiatives, as well as SQF initiatives and GMP practices.
  • Assist in data collection methodologies and quantification on financial impact of results.
  • Ensure timely and specific Corrective Action activities, generate targeted reports and follow up to team, track key performance metrics
  • Provide technical (quality tool) and statistical insight to teams, assist in presenting data
  • Transfer learning across teams and business.
  • Identify application opportunities for the technical/statistical tools of quality/process improvement and facilitate the implementation
  • Work with improvement teams to address customer concerns and remove barriers.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has supervisory responsibilities and serves as a coach and resource for quality-related practices, processes, and expectations.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office/plant environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers/fax, filing cabinets, etc. Most of the work will be done in manufacturing facilities where the noise level may be loud and the temperature is uncontrolled.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position with some flexibility in work schedules/hours, but the employee should generally be available during the "core" work hours of 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and must agree to variation in work schedules/hours and overtime.

Travel

This position may require travel - up to 20% travel potential.

Education and Experience
  • 2- or 4-year college degree, or equivalent experience in a comparable role
  • 3 to 5 years of experience with relevant training and analytics.
  • Advanced training using relevant tools and techniques associated in all aspects of Quality.
  • Knowledge of all aspects of Quality functions within a manufacturing environment
  • Working knowledge of 5S and Lean tools and experience using process improvement techniques
  • Excellent communication, coaching and training skills
  • Experience with ISO 9001 and GFSI requirements
  • Six Sigma Black Belt is a plus
  • Strong computer skills
  • Ability to multi-task - possess analytical skills and critical thinking skills
