Winland Foods is seeking a Quality Supervisor to oversee all quality aspects during the production shift, ensuring finished products meet specifications and customer expectations. The role collaborates with operations, ensuring GMPs/SQF compliance and effective QA program administration.

The position is full-time, based in Grand Forks, ND, offering salary $73,000–$98,500 with potential bonuses and a comprehensive benefits package. Strong leadership and organizational skills required.

Qualifications

  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Food Science or related field.
  • Proficient and effective use of communication and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Food Safety: Must comply with all GMPs, SQF requirements, and other Food Safety related items as deemed necessary by the company.
  • Ensure that all direct reports comply with all Company Food Safety Policies and federal regulations.
  • Maintain compliance with Plant Safety policies, procedures, rules and regulations.
  • Ensure direct reports comply with Safety requirements per Company Policies and Government regulations.
  • Provide input in department and program development; foster Continuous Improvement and team environment.
  • Troubleshoots and problem solves as needed.
  • Assess QA programs’ efficacy; coordinate and administer QA programs and workflows.
  • Investigate consumer/customer complaints and develop corrective actions.
  • Supervise hourly Associates and Team Leaders/Coordinators for efficient workflow.
  • Oversee QA lead/lab tech daily functions and schedules.
  • In the absence, Quality Manager or Lead covers responsibilities.

Quality Supervisor

The Quality Supervisor is responsible for all aspects of quality during the production shift. This Supervisor will work closely with and communicate with operations, ensuring all finished products meet specifications and customer expectations.

Salary, based on experience and other qualifications: $73,000 - $98,500 annually with additional bonus potential

Schedule: Primary work schedule is 1st shift, Monday-Friday, with flexibility are needed

Key Responsibilities
  • Food Safety: Must comply with all GMPs, SQF requirements, and other Food Safety related items as deemed necessary by the company
  • Ensure that all direct reports comply with all Company Food Safety Policies and federal regulations.
  • Must be able to maintenance compliance with all Plant Safety policies, procedures, rules and regulation in accordance with Company Best Practices, Policies, and required government regulations.
  • Ensure that all direct reports also comply with all Safety requirements in accordance with Company Policies and Government regulations.
  • Provides input in department and program development; fosters Continuous Improvement and team environment; facility advocate for Food Safety and Quality; monitor and implement policies, programs, rules and regulations for compliance.
  • Trouble shoots and problem solves as needed.
  • Assesses QA programs’ efficacy; coordinates and administers QA programs and work flow.
  • Investigates consumer/customer complaints and develops response and corrective actions.
  • Supervise hourly Associates and Team Leaders/Coordinators to ensure that an efficient and effective workflow is created on a day to day basis.
  • Oversees QA lead/lab tech daily functions as well as develops the work schedule for all technicians.
  • In the absence of the Quality Supervisor, the Quality Manager or Quality Lead covers for his/her responsibilities.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Chemistry, Food Science or related field required.
  • Proficient and effective use of communication and Microsoft Office.
  • Manufacturing and Food Industry Experience preferred.
  • Food Processing related certification is a plus.
  • Must be highly organized and work well under pressure.
  • Must be able to work independently, as well as under supervision.
  • Must be able to work effectively with others, have good interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Must be willing to accept responsibility and to show good judgment, initiative, and resourcefulness.
  • Is cross functional in all areas of department, trouble shoot and corrects issues.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to manage as a member of and/or lead cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize one’s own time consistent with the needs of the business.
  • Ability to perform formal root cause analysis to identify and resolve downtime/inefficient operational issues.
  • Articulate both written and spoken, and possess excellent listening skills.
