Job summary

  • Experience testing applications in cloud environments.
  • Understanding of DEV/UAT processes, defect lifecycle, and release validation.
  • Experience creating and maintaining test documentation (plans, cases, defect reports).
  • Ability to analyze logs, dashboards, alarms, and alerts to identify issues.
  • Familiarity with manual and automated testing methodologies and best practices.
  • Experience using Jira and Confluence for issue tracking and collaboration.

Job description

The Quality Assurance Specialist III ensures the quality, reliability, and performance of enterprise applications deployed in AWS cloud environments in a remote work arrangement. This role designs and executes test plans, validates application functionality across DEV and UAT environments, monitors system performance using AWS tools, documents defects, and collaborates with development and cloud teams to support successful deployments.

Success in this role is demonstrated through effective testing strategies, timely issue resolution, and delivery of reliable, high-quality applications.

What You Will Do in This Role

The Quality Assurance Specialist III will design, execute, and monitor comprehensive QA testing for AWS cloud applications, validating functionality, identifying issues, documenting results, and collaborating with development and cloud teams to support reliable deployments.

  • Collaborate with AWS cloud application and service teams to design, develop, and execute effective test plans and testing strategies.
  • Utilize AWS dashboards, alarms, notifications, and CloudWatch logs to monitor test execution, identify failing components, and detect performance issues or anomalies.
  • Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases for cloud-based applications across Development (DEV) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) environments.
  • Partner with AWS cloud application and service teams to understand system architectures, integration points, and expected functionality to drive effective testing approaches.
  • Validate application functionality, APIs, integrations, user workflows, and system behaviors across distributed cloud services.
  • Document defects, test findings, and performance issues clearly while collaborating with development, DevOps, and cloud engineering teams to support timely resolution.
  • Generate detailed test reports and summaries outlining test results, defects identified, system performance metrics, and application readiness for deployment.
  • Support release validation, regression testing, and continuous improvement of automated and manual testing processes.
  • Assist with the onboarding and refinement of cloud-based QA tools, automation frameworks, and monitoring capabilities.
  • Apply knowledge of cloud architectures, DevOps workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and distributed system testing best practices to support reliable application delivery.

What You Will Bring

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • 1–3 years of hands‑on experience with Python development, scripting, and automation.
  • Demonstrated experience in Quality Assurance and software testing, including test planning, execution, defect identification, and validation.
  • Experience testing applications in cloud environments.
  • Strong understanding of Development (DEV) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) processes, defect lifecycle management, and release validation.
  • Experience developing and maintaining test documentation, including test plans, test cases, defect reports, and test summaries.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret application logs, dashboards, alarms, and alerts to identify system issues and performance concerns.
  • Working knowledge of manual and automated testing methodologies and best practices.
  • Experience using Jira and Confluence for issue tracking, documentation, and collaboration.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent written, verbal, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience testing applications specifically within AWS cloud environments.
  • Familiarity with AWS services such as CloudWatch, SNS, Lambda, S3, ECS/EKS, API Gateway, or similar cloud monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
  • Functional knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) concepts and practices.
  • Experience supporting cloud-based QA tools, automation frameworks, and monitoring capabilities.

Work authorization/security clearance requirements

  • Ability to obtain a security clearance.
  • This work is normally completed in a remote environment.

Physical Demands

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's and client facilities.
