Job summary

Dairy Farmers of America is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Assurance/Compliance professional in Minnesota to support batch record reviews, data entry, and documentation within our QA/QMS framework.

You will collaborate with production teams, aid audits, and train staff on GMP and food safety requirements, ensuring accurate records and timely certificates of analysis. Strong English communication and Office skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years in quality systems, food safety, production in a food manufacturing environment.
  • Certification and/or License – SQF, HACCP and PCQI certifications may be required during employment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; related post-secondary education preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and able to prepare technical reports and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Complete batch record review and data entry into management software.
  • Disposition products by assigning/changing status in systems as needed.
  • Review, organize, and file production records.
  • Perform and/or assist with root cause analysis.
  • Maintain required spreadsheets, records, and reports; communicate with customers as needed.
  • Prepare records for internal and external audits and obtain certificates of analysis.
  • Support writing, reviewing, updating, and training of QMS documentation and related software.
  • Educate and train employees on food safety and quality topics per corporate guidelines.
  • May participate in regulatory and customer inspections and quality walkthroughs.
  • Adhere to GMP and DFA policies; report nonconformities and follow sanitation requirements.

Job description

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Complete batch record review of various products and data entry into management software system
  • Disposition products (assign/change status) in management software systems as assigned
  • Review, organize, and file production records
  • Perform and/or assist with root cause analysis
  • Maintain company and customer required spreadsheets, records, and reports and communicate with customers as needed
  • Prepare and organize records as requested for internal and external audits
  • Obtain and/or issue certificates of analysis as needed
  • Support and assist in the writing, reviewing, updating, and training of all documentation elements of the Quality Management System and related software
  • Educate and train employees on food safety and quality topics per corporate guidelines
  • May complete quality walkthroughs of the facility to ensure necessary corrective actions are completed; may participate in regulatory and customer inspections
  • Adhere to all DFA Quality and Safety policies and procedures and report any nonconformities
  • Follow all DFA good manufacturing practices (GMP) and work in a manner consistent with all corporate regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Post-secondary education related to food science, biological science, or related sciences preferred
  • 1 to 3 years of quality systems, food safety, production, or related experience in a food manufacturing environment
  • Certification and/or License – may be required during course of employment such as SQF, HACCP and PCQI certifications

  • Able to use Microsoft Office Suite and company computer systems
  • Able to prepare technical reports and procedures
  • Able to keep good records (record keeping skill)
  • Able to prioritize tasks and work independently
  • Able to work with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Able to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English
