Job summary

CBRE Government & Defense Services is seeking a Project Inspector/QA Manager to oversee FAA airport infrastructure projects with a focus on safety, quality, and schedule adherence.

You will collaborate with Construction Managers, contractors, and stakeholders, reviewing work against drawings and contracts and maintaining thorough project documentation. Extensive travel to project sites is required, including nights and weekends as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Project Management, Quality Management, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in construction management, inspection, QA/QC, or project management.
  • Certifications in OSHA safety, construction inspection, quality management, or PM.

Responsibilities

  • Provide onsite oversight and inspection of construction.
  • Review work for conformance with drawings, specs, and contracts.
  • Monitor contractor performance to meet quality requirements.
  • Identify deficiencies and coordinate corrective actions.
  • Conduct quality inspections and observations.
  • Prepare daily inspection reports and project updates.
  • Maintain documentation, inspection records, photos.
  • Coordinate with contractors, vendors, stakeholders on issues.
  • Monitor progress and identify schedule/quality/compliance risks.
  • Provide guidance and coaching to contractors and site teams.

Description
Job Summary

Responsible for providing onsite inspection, quality assurance, and construction oversight for FAA airport infrastructure projects, ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, and in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, contracts, and quality standards.

Collaborate with Construction Managers, contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and other stakeholders to monitor project progress, identify deficiencies, coordinate corrective actions, and support successful project completion.

Many projects will occur outside standard business hours. The selected Project Inspector/QA Manager must be available to work one or more of the following Monday–Friday shifts, with occasional weekend and overnight work as required:

  • 6:30 a.m.–3:30 p.m.
  • 2:30 p.m.–11:30 p.m.
  • 10:30 p.m.–7:30 a.m.

Primary Job Functions

  • Occasional exposure to elements such as heat, cold, noise, dust, dirt, chemicals, etc.

  • Knowledge of OSHA standards, NFPA, Joint Commissioning and safety procedures with skills in conducting accident investigations and safety inspections.
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical systems, critical thinking skills, and proficiency with standard testing tools.
  • Knowledge of recognized and generally accepted good engineering practice regulations and codes.
  • Ability to exercise judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information and the willingness to take a new perspective on existing solutions.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc. Experience with Kahua is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills with an advanced inquisitive mindset.
