Job summary

State of Wisconsin, Department of Health Services, Division of Quality Assurance, Bureau of Nurse Home Resident Care, seeks a Quality Assurance Senior to ensure high standards of care for residents. Introduction

The Department of Health Services (DHS), Division of Quality Assurance (DQA), Bureau of Nurse Home Resident Care (BNHRC) is looking to hire a Quality Assurance Specialist Senior to help ensure Wisconsin residents receive top quality care.

This Position
  • Can work remotely up to 5 days per week but may be required to report to an office location on occasion to complete certain tasks. This schedule may vary based on training or operational need.
  • Will typically work Monday-Friday
  • Can be headquartered at one of our central or regional offices, excluding Rhinelander and Waukesha.

Position Summary

As a Quality Assurance Programs Specialist Senior, you will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Acting as the principal quality assurance specialist for the Facility Reported Incidents (FRIs), processing and assisting with the complaint process.
  • Reviewing and triaging FRIs received from Office of Caregiver Quality and the intake hotline.
  • Reviewing and processing all FRIs in iQIES and alert regional office staff when opened.
  • Utilizing a high degree of independent judgement and communicating effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Reviewing all survey reports.
  • Planning, developing, and coordinating training for multiple relevant party groups.
  • Interpretating federal and state regulations pertaining to long term care health providers.
  • Facilitating administrative operations of the office.

This position is critical to ensure compliance with the federal performance standards to help meet requirements.

Salary Information

The starting pay is between $36.00 and $39.50 per hour (approximately between $74,800 and $82,100 per year), depending on qualifications, plus excellent benefits. A 12-month probationary period is required.

Pay for current or former state employees will be set based on the rules that apply to compensation for the applicable transaction. This position is in pay schedule and range 07/03.

Job Details

For positions that allow remote working flexibility, working outside of Wisconsin or in bordering cities will not be allowed except in extremely limited circumstances due to the need to report to an office location in Wisconsin on short notice.

Employees must have access to both a private workspace and secure high-speed internet for remote work option. Mileage reimbursement to the employee’s headquarter location is not provided. Remote work flexibility will be discussed in more detail during the interview process.

Qualifications

Minimally qualified applicants will have all of the following:

  • Experience working with federal and state long term care provider program regulations, statutes, or administrative rules.
  • Experience communicating, both orally and in writing, to explain policies and procedures, articulate and resolve issues and complaints, and develop materials/correspondence.
  • Experience working with quality assurance and quality improvement techniques and methods.

Well-qualified applicants will also have one or more of the following:

  • Experience developing and presenting educational presentations to diverse audiences.
  • Experience interpreting and applying federal and state requirements for providers.
  • Experience analyzing existing data to develop ad hoc reports to meet the needs of relevant parties.
