Job summary

Tulare County HHSA is seeking a Quality Assurance Nurse to support the Public Health Nursing and Prevention Division. You will evaluate records, prepare narrative QA reports, summarize findings for management, and recommend policy changes.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• Valid RN license issued by the California Board of Registered Nursing.
• Three years of nursing experience as an RN, including one year in patient care and one year in process improvement in a clinical setting.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and track quality assurance policies and procedures to ensure quality care for patients.
• Identify through focused audits potential operational or regulatory issues related to quality assurance in health care, regulatory compliance, prevention, reporting, and monitoring.
• Evaluate records and prepare narrative reports summarizing quality assurance findings for management review, and make recommendations for changes in policies and procedures.
• Provide technical guidance to physicians and other departmental staff in identifying and resolving issues or errors that do not conform to patient-care standards, accuracy of documentation, procedures, and requirements.
• Identify training needs based on quality assurance findings, prepare training materials for electronic health records, and conduct training for physicians and support staff to improve compliance and performance improvement activities.
