Job summary

County of Tulare is seeking a Quality Assurance Nurse to support the Public Health Nursing and Prevention Division within Tulare County’s Health & Human Services Agency. You will evaluate records, summarize QA findings for management, and recommend changes to policies and procedures to ensure high-quality patient care.

The role involves overseeing clinical compliance activities, documenting to reflect visits accurately, and providing training on electronic health records to improve performance.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• A valid Registered Nurse License issued by the California Board of Registered Nursing.
• Three (3) years’ nursing experience as a Registered Nurse, including one (1) year in patient care and one (1) year in process improvement in a clinical setting.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and track quality assurance policies and procedures to ensure quality care for patients.
• Identify through focused audits potential operational and/or regulatory issues related to quality assurance in health care, regulatory compliance, prevention, reporting, and monitoring.
• Evaluate records and prepare narrative reports summarizing quality assurance findings for review by management, and make recommendations for changes in policies and procedures.
• Provide technical guidance to physicians and other departmental staff in identifying and resolving issues or errors that do not conform to patient-care standards, accuracy of documentation, procedures, and requirements.
• Identify training needs based on quality assurance findings, prepare training materials for electronic health records, and conduct training for physicians and support staff to improve compliance and performance improvement activities.
