Job summary

McAirlaid's in Rocky Mount, VA, is seeking a Quality Manager to lead the QA/QC program, ensure compliance with food safety regulations and customer specifications, and drive product excellence across the manufacturing site.

This on-site, full-time role requires a 4-year degree, 5+ years in quality management in food packaging, and strong knowledge of BRC/ISO standards. The incumbent will lead audits, manage the QMS, and mentor the QA team while pursuing continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Quality Management, Engineering or related field; master's preferred.
• 5+ years quality management experience in food packaging/manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of BRC and ISO standards.
• Experience with absorption pad production or similar packaging tech preferred.
• Ability to lead teams, manage audits, and drive continuous improvement.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and quality management software (Q-Pulse, EtQ).
• Certification in HACCP, PCQI, or Six Sigma is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the quality management system (QMS) to ensure compliance with food safety regulations and customer specs.
• Lead the QA/QC team and manage internal and supplier audits.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to maintain product integrity and efficiency.
• Collaborate with production on floor and during training.
