Job summary

Cube Root Corporation, a Washington, DC-based construction management and engineering services firm, seeks a Quality Assurance professional to implement and manage the Project’s QA Program. You will develop criteria, prepare QA plans, and ensure compliance across site development and design activities.

The role requires advancing QA processes, leading meetings, reviewing submittals, and coordinating with prime contractors, consultants, and owners.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering, Architecture or CM required.
• Minimum 8 yrs experience in similar roles for building and facilities related construction.

Responsibilities

• Implement and manage the Project’s Quality Assurance Program (QAP).
• Develop additional relevant criteria for Quality Assurance Management for site development and design activities.
• Prepare and revise the Quality Assurance plan as needed.
• Lead QA meetings and coordinate with contractor QC program; provide feedback on compliance.
• Produce regular QA reports for the Project Manager, COTR and Ownership team with data and recommendations.
• Review submittals, payment applications, change orders, and daily reports; ensure permits are acquired.

Job Description And Responsibilities

Primarily responsible for the implementation and management of the Project’s Quality Assurance Program (QAP). Develops additional relevant criteria for Quality Assurance Management as needed for all facets of the site development and design activity. Prepares and revises the Quality Assurance plan as needed.

Develop a full understanding of the prime contractor and consultant contractual requirements. Takes initiative on all facets of Quality Assurance. Ensure the immediate initiation of the prime contractors and consultant Quality Control Program and that these programs include all lower tier contractors and suppliers.

• Conduct Quality Assurance meetings. These meetings will offer a platform for clarification and coordination of the QA program with the contractor quality control program. Provide regular feedback to the contractor on compliance with the QA program. Develop methods within the QA program to confirm the reporting and deliverables provided from QC personnel. Ensures Contractor follows 3 phases of inspection modeled after USACE CQM program.
• Produce regular QA reports for the Project Manager, COTR and the Ownership team. QA reporting provides data, trends and assessments of the contractor QC program. Provide recommendations to the Ownership team on guidance that should be delivered to the contractor to improve its QC program or to improve the results of the contractor’s work in place.
• Perform submittal review, comments and approval for key submittals to include work plans, safety plans, incident response plans, Contractor schedules, Contractor’s meeting minutes, etc. Maintains organized and complete written records of submittals required by the QA program. Review contractor payment application and potential change orders for validation of quantities. Reviews contractor’s daily reporting for accuracy. Tracks require permitting and ensures they are appropriately acquired for the work.
• Reviews and comments on the design team QC plan for their design process. Ensures the design team maintains compliance with their QC plan during the design process.
• Leads by example, wearing appropriate safety gear and following safety requirements. Displays a positive and productive attitude toward safety.
• Manage and lead all Owner consultants responsible for supporting the QA program. Ensure efforts of the QA team are coordinated. Establishes a meaningful QA presence on site. Regularly participates in contractor site meetings and regular owner progress meetings. Lead contractor site meetings and regular meetings as necessary.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
