Job summary

EMCOR Group, Inc. seeks an experienced Quality Control lead for pump station and heavy civil construction projects in Florida. The QC will have authority to stop work for nonconformance and report to the Senior Project Manager.

Strong leadership, organizational, and client service skills are essential. The role requires a BS in Engineering or Construction Management with 3+ years in related work and 5+ years in pump station projects, plus proficiency in Excel, Word, and QA/QC tools.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years in Pump Station Construction or Heavy Civil Construction.
  • Meet CQC Training.

  • Ability to develop or maintain relationships with clients, subcontractors and vendors.

  • Functions effectively as part of a team.
  • Familiar with grading, drainage, paving, bridge construction, retaining walls, plumbing, electrical and mechanical scopes.
  • Experience with Excel and Word; knowledge of QA/QC software (E-Builder, eCMS, RMS) is required.

Responsibilities

  • Establish, maintain, and update data in the QCS database throughout the contract duration.
  • Supervise and coordinate all inspections (Follow-up, Punch-out, Pre-Final and Final Inspections).
  • Prepare and submit detailed daily construction reports.
  • Review submittal data and certify that submittals comply with contract requirements.
  • Direct other Quality Control staff, assigning responsibilities and authorities as required by contract.
  • Maintain up-to-date testing and QA/QC documentation.
  • Ensure safety and compliance with contract requirements on site.

About Us

We provide mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) construction to institutional and government organizations. We are a design-build contractor with extensive BIM and LEED expertise, as well as specialty experience working on complex marine, pump station, and water and wastewater projects.

Job Summary

The Quality Control (QC) will have authority to act in all Quality Control matters. QC is required to be present on the project during production and to ensure that the plans and specifications are met in full. He/ She will answer and be responsible only to the Senior Project Manager of your region or an officer of the company not directly responsible for production. In the event a nonconformance occurs, the CQ have the authority to stop work until the nonconformance is removed and replaced in accordance with the Quality Control Program. QC must be an experienced construction person with a minimum of 5 years in related work or a graduate engineer, graduate architect, or graduate of a college level construction management course of study, with a minimum of 3 years construction experience on construction similar to this contract. CQC must be assigned no other duties. The position requires to demonstrate strong leadership, organizational and time management skills, as well as have string communication and client service skills.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Establish, maintain, and update data in the QCS database throughout the contract duration.
  • Have the responsibility to ensure all materials and equipment is certified on and off the jobsite.
  • Conduct Preparatory, Initial and Follow-up meetings for each definable feature of work.
  • Supervise and coordinate all inspections (Follow-up, Punch- out, Pre-Final and Final Inspections).
  • Schedule and coordinate the independent testing laboratories for all testing.
  • Maintain up to date testing plan.
  • Maintain revision log for the CQC plan revisions.
  • Maintain up to date submittal status log.
  • Hold weekly/bi-weekly CQC meetings and prepare minutes of the meetings.
  • Review submittal data and certify that submittals comply with contract requirements.
  • See that all required personnel are on the site at all times during the installation and testing in their area of responsibility.
  • Direct other Quality Control staff, assigning responsibilities, duties and authorities as required by contract.
  • Have the authority to remove personnel from the work if work is not conforming to contract requirements.
  • Have no other duties other than Quality Control.
  • Responsible for the safety of all assigned employees and subcontractors to ensure the safe execution of all activities, including the strict adherence to HPA safety policies and programs through the communication and enforcement of HPA Safety and Health Program, including the ability to independently stop work for a safety violation or suspected safety violation
  • Full knowledge of Contract Documentation (e.g. Drawings, Technical Specifications, General Conditions, etc.)
  • Assist with preconstruction efforts
  • Prepare and submit detailed daily construction reports.
  • Maintain relationships with clients, designers, subcontractors, vendors and consultant
  • Attend to project meeting, including progress, pre-construction and pre-award.
  • Review inspection and test date for compliance with specifications
  • Set-up QA-QC procedures and conduct quality inspections
  • Demonstrate commitment to an Injury-Free Environment through own actions and mentoring others.

Qualifications
  • BS in Engineering or Construction Management with minimum of 3 years working in the Pump Station Construction or Heavy Civil Construction Industry
