About the Company

Our client is a leading manufacturer in the Ready-To-Eat (RTE) food industry, dedicated to delivering safe, high-quality products to customers nationwide. They are seeking an experienced FSQA Manager to lead the plant-level food safety and quality programs, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, customer expectations, and company standards.

Position Summary

The FSQA Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of food safety and quality assurance within the manufacturing facility. This role will manage QA staff, lead audits, ensure adherence to food safety regulations (FDA, USDA, HACCP, SQF/BRC), and drive continuous improvement initiatives across the plant.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the plant’s food safety and quality programs, including HACCP, GMPs, SOPs, and environmental monitoring.
• Manage and mentor the QA team to ensure consistent application of policies and procedures.
• Serve as the primary contact for third-party and regulatory audits, including FDA, USDA, and GFSI (SQF or BRC).
• Ensure compliance with customer specifications and internal quality standards.
• Investigate customer complaints and non-conformances; implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs).
• Oversee product testing, shelf-life studies, and verification/validation of sanitation and allergen control programs.
• Partner with operations and R&D to support new product launches and process improvements.
• Maintain documentation and records in accordance with regulatory and certification requirements.
• Provide regular training to production and QA staff on food safety protocols and updates.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or related field (required).
• 5+ years of food safety/quality experience in food manufacturing; RTE experience strongly preferred.
• HACCP certification (required); PCQI and SQF/BRC practitioner certification a plus.
• In-depth knowledge of FDA/USDA regulations, GFSI schemes, and industry best practices.
• Proven leadership and team management skills.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational abilities.
