POSITION DESCRIPTION
Position Title: Quality Assurance Manager
Department: Operations & Supply Chain
Reports To: Director of Product Development & Commercialization
Classification: Full-Time Exempt
Salary Range: $75,000-$85,000 DOE
I. POSITION SUMMARY:
As the Quality Assurance Manager at Jones Soda, you will play a critical role in maintaining product quality and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. You will oversee all aspects of the company’s QA systems, including audits, documentation, testing protocols, and continuous improvement efforts.
This hands-on role is ideal for a QA professional who is passionate about delivering high-quality products, improving processes, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to uphold Jones Soda’s reputation for excellence.
A successful candidate is an out-of-the-box thinker who takes ownership of their position, is a self-starter, skilled in multi-tasking, and handling competing priorities within time constraints. This position is an integral contributor to a close-knit, cohesive team environment, reliability is key to success in this role.
II. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
·Oversee and maintain QA systems, policies, and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance and product quality.
·Lead internal and external audits and ensure prompt resolution of findings.
·Monitor production processes to ensure compliance with quality specifications and standards.
·Manage product testing protocols and ensure accurate, timely reporting of results.
·Maintain up-to-date QA documentation, including SOPs, batch records, and regulatory findings.
·Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations (e.g., FDA, HACCP, SQF, FSVP). Maintenance of state registrations.
·Partner with R&D, Operations, and Supply Chain teams to support product development and commercialization efforts.
·Track and report on quality metrics monthly.
·Collaborate with external partners and co-mans to ensure quality standards are upheld throughout the supply chain.
·Identify and implement process improvements to enhance product quality and reduce non-conformance.
·Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the quality assurance processes.
III. SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, TRAINING OR SPECIAL LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:
·Strong knowledge of QA systems, regulatory compliance, and quality management principles.
·Familiarity with FDA, HACCP, SQF, FSVP and other industry standards.
·Experience with auditing, documentation, and product testing protocols.
·Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with cross-functional teams.
·Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and process improvement mindset.
IV. QUALIFICATIONS:
·3+ years of experience in quality assurance in a consumer goods or food & beverage company.
·Prior experience with co-manufacturing partners and scaling QA processes.
·Hands-on experience with developing and implementing QA protocols and documentation.
·Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma. Certified Lean Six-Sigma preferred.
