## **Job Summary**The Quality Assurance Manager for Facilities Maintenance is responsible for overseeing and evaluating the performance of maintenance staff engaged in general building repairs and upkeep. This position ensures that all maintenance activities are performed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with established standards of quality and appearance. The manager leads preventive maintenance planning, conducts inspections, supports staff with technical expertise, and performs hands-on maintenance tasks as needed to ensure the functional integrity and presentation of facilities.## ## **Job Description**Duties and Responsibilities:Quality Oversight and Standards Enforcement – 30%* Monitor and evaluate the quality of building maintenance work performed by maintenance staff.* Conduct site inspections, review work orders, and ensure repairs meet safety, durability, and aesthetic standards.* Identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions where necessary.Staff Supervision and Development – 25%* Assign and oversee maintenance work, ensuring proper task distribution and adherence to schedules.* Train and mentor staff in techniques and procedures to promote consistent, high-quality work.* Reinforce safety practices and departmental protocols in all activities.Technical Support and Overflow Task Management – 15%* Serve as a working manager by providing hands-on assistance with complex, urgent, or overflow repair and maintenance tasks.* Offer guidance and support in areas such as carpentry, painting, minor plumbing, and mechanical systems maintenance.Preventive Maintenance Planning – 10%* Develop, implement, and monitor preventive maintenance schedules for facilities and equipment to extend service life and prevent breakdowns.* Coordinate periodic inspections and follow-up repairs.Work Order and Documentation Management – 10%* Track and review maintenance requests and work orders for timeliness, accuracy, and quality.* Maintain documentation of repairs, inspections, preventive maintenance, and supply usage.* Use data to identify patterns and proactively address recurring issues.Interdepartmental Coordination – 5%* Work closely with other facility and operations teams (e.g., custodial, HVAC, electrical) and outside vendors to coordinate joint tasks or special projects.* Ensure alignment of work efforts and service standards.Compliance and Safety Monitoring – 5%* Ensure all maintenance work complies with applicable building codes, safety standards, and organizational policies.* Conduct safety checks, enforce use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and participate in accident prevention efforts.Required Qualifications:* Broad knowledge of general facility maintenance including carpentry, painting, plumbing, and light mechanical systems.* Experience supervising or leading skilled trades or maintenance personnel.* Strong understanding of quality control principles and facility upkeep standards.* Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.* Familiarity with maintenance work order systems and preventive maintenance planning.* Commitment to safety and continuous improvement.Desired Qualifications:* Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management or similar.**Required Attachments** Please upload the following documents in the Resume/Cover Letter section.* Detailed resume listing relevant qualifications and experience;* Cover Letter indicating why you are a good fit for the position and LSU New Orleans;* Names and contact information of three references; Applications that do not include the required uploaded documents may not be considered.## Posting Close DateThis position will remain open until filled.
