Quality Assurance Manager

We are seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Manager to oversee the establishment, implementation, and maintenance of our Quality Management System in compliance with ISO 9001 standards. The QA Manager will play a pivotal role in quality function strategy, improving quality across site operations, and championing lean initiatives to enhance product and process quality. This position is based in Omaha, Nebraska, and offers a significant opportunity for professional growth in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Salary: $120,000 - $140,000 per year plus bonus

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and evaluate business situations, production capabilities, and economic trends to present information for strategic decision-making.
  • Develop and implement site quality improvement plans and suggest alternative solutions to improve overall quality.
  • Meet market changes with adaptable quality strategies that align with company goals.
  • Implement and sustain continuous process improvement initiatives.
  • Serve as the ISO 9001 Management Representative and lead the Quality Improvement Team (QIT) Steering Team.
  • Develop statistical data and product specifications to establish and evaluate quality and reliability standards for products.
  • Formulate and establish company policies and operational procedures alongside other top management personnel.
  • Report monthly KPIs in collaboration with global QA teams.
  • Direct inspection and testing activities to maintain control over materials, facilities, and products.
  • Review and recommend solutions to technical problems within quality assurance departments.
  • Work with vendor representatives to assess and improve vendor quality and reliability, and implement quality improvement plans.
  • Liaise with engineers regarding quality assurance in product design and manufacturing to prevent potential failures.
  • Plan, promote, and organize training connected to quality systems, methods, and tools.
  • Manage internal audits, ensuring adherence to schedules and prompt resolution of corrective actions.
  • Lead customer audits and maintain high standards per contracted requirements.
  • Directly supervise employees in the Quality Assurance Department and oversee departmental management in line with organizational policies.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

  • BA or BS degree or a 2-year Associate’s degree in a relevant field.
  • 8+ years’ experience in the manufacturing environment.
  • 5+ years in a management role within quality management, assurance, and production processing/assembly.
  • Proven experience in establishing and maintaining quality management systems.
  • Experience with quality strategies and quality improvement plans.
  • Proficiency in problem-solving methods such as QRQC, 8D, Ishikawa, 5 Why’s, 6 Sigma.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of APQP, PPAP, supplier quality management, and development.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in Management or Quality Assurance.
  • Certifications in Six Sigma, Quality Management Systems, or Lean Manufacturing.
  • Prior experience in the automotive or related manufacturing sectors.
  • Demonstrated leadership in managing cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with global operations and multinational teams.
