Job summary

The Kinsa Group is recruiting a Quality Assurance Manager for our Detroit, MI facility. This on-site role focuses on ensuring safety, quality, and regulatory compliance across the production process, leading a team of quality technicians and batchers to uphold high standards.

You will oversee HACCP and Food Safety plans, drive continuous improvement, and coordinate audits with cross-functional teams to protect product quality and brand integrity in a growing beverage operation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science or related field.
• 3+ years of leadership or supervisory experience in food manufacturing.
• Familiar with HACCP, GMPs and quality systems.
• Knowledge of FDA and local regulatory requirements.
• Willing to relocate to Detroit, MI.

Responsibilities

• Lead quality initiatives at the Detroit facility.
• Develop and enforce quality standards across production.
• Lead a team of technicians and batchers; provide training.

What You’ll Do:

As the Quality Assurance Manager at our Detroit facility, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety, quality, and regulatory compliance of our products. This position offers an exciting opportunity to lead quality initiatives in a growing, entrepreneurial environment. You will develop and enforce quality standards, lead a team of technicians, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to uphold the company’s commitment to excellence. Your leadership will be instrumental in maintaining food safety protocols, managing audits, and driving continuous improvement across the production process.

• Manage and develop a team of quality technicians and batchers, providing training and evaluations.


• Ensure raw materials, process parameters, sanitation, and finished products meet all quality and regulatory standards.


• Lead and audit quality programs, maintaining proper documentation and compliance.


• Oversee HACCP and Food Safety plan implementation and monitoring.


• Support customer inquiries and manage non-compliance issues, providing timely feedback.


• Lead preparation and response for quality audits and inspections.

Qualifications You Have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Management, or related field.


• Minimum of 3 years of leadership or supervisory experience, preferably in food manufacturing.


• Familiarity with HACCP, GMPs, and quality systems.


• Knowledge of FDA and local regulatory requirements.


• HACCP certification and PCQI/SQF Practitioner credentials are a plus.


• Willing to relocate to Detroit, MI.
