DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Selects, trains, develops, supervises and evaluates staff. Allocates personnel and financial resources within quality function to achieve plant and divisional goals and objectives.
  • Manages and controls the APQP and PPAP process for new product launches or process changes.
  • Act as a liaison between internal and external customers in maintaining quality objectives. Communicates quality concerns and customer complaints to plant personnel (hourly and salaried).
  • Receive, review and take action on quality concerns and non-conforming product. Perform root causes analysis using problem solving methodology and implement and maintain corrective action(s).
  • Track, monitor, and trend key quality performance indicators. Identify potential risk areas and intiaitve, implement and maintain corrective action(s)
  • Manage, maintain, and ensure compliance to Quality Management System and TS-16949 standard. Perform layered internal audits and management reviews to ensure compliance to required standards.
  • Provides direction to Quality Engineers, Quality Assurance Technicians, on scrap and quality improvements in the plant.
  • As the position involves the implementation, development, documentation, monitoring and troubleshooting of processes, the position requires a thorough understanding of manufacturing.
  • Maintains and assures the manufacturing of quality product that meets the requirements setforth by customers. Actively evaluates the effectiveness of the quality measures implemented and ensures compliance.
  • Each employee has the authority to initiate action to prevent a violation of the Federal-Mogul Integrity Policy. All employees will abide by their location’s EH&S policy endorsed by the local management, comply with legal and other requirements and operational controls established under its EHSMS, work toward achieving established objectives and targets, and conform to procedures consistent with the ISO 14001 standard. An employee should report, and if necessary stop, any activity that does not conform to the policy or may injure himself/herself. Capable of providing support as requested by supervisor.
Qualifications

Minimum Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s of Science degree in Ceramicas, ME or other technical degree or equivalent knowledge in Quality Assurance Process problems solving knowledge

Minimum Experience Requirements:

  • Five years of experience in quality control, process control or engineering capacity
  • Industrial or Automotive experience (tier 1 or OEM experience) required 3 yrs minimum demonstrated ability to effect positive change
  • Ability to directly or indirectly manage and develop professionals
  • Gauging and gauge tracking experience
  • Process improvement in reducing scrap (e.g. ceramic powder, bent bores, defects and decorating), Isostatic pressing, firing ceramics and decorating process
  • Reducing defects and working with internal customers
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal relationship skills
  • Union Shop experience preferred
  • Dimensional Control Engineering background (preferred)
  • Expert with implementation and execution of TS 16949 (ISO a plus)
  • Bulk Process Experience
