Job summary

Ashland Foundry & Machine Works LLC in Butler Township, PA seeks a hands-on Quality Assurance Manager to lead the quality team, drive the QMS, and ensure ISO, NAVSEA/MIL-STD, ASME and NQA-1 requirements are consistently met across casting and machining operations.

You will develop personnel, partner with operations, monitor quality metrics, manage audits and CAPAs, and promote a culture of safety, compliance, and continuous improvement across the manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• Experience leading quality in manufacturing.
• Experience with ISO QMS and audits.
• Knowledge of manufacturing quality processes, traceability, and documentation.
• Ability to interpret drawings and customer quality requirements.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage priorities in a regulated environment.
• Foundry, metal casting, machining experience preferred.
• Familiarity with military or nuclear quality standards is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop quality personnel across engineering, inspection, and testing staff.
• Develop and maintain the quality management system, controls, and documentation.
• Oversee audits, CAPAs, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
• Review contracts and specifications to ensure proper quality controls.
• Monitor quality metrics and push for defect reduction and cost containment.
• Collaborate with operations leadership to improve process consistency and production performance.
• Serve as primary contact for customers, inspectors, and certifying bodies on quality issues.
