Job summary

Mykelly is seeking a Quality Assurance Manager in Ashland, PA, to lead quality in a high-stakes foundry environment. You will oversee the quality management system and ensure components meet demanding customer, military, nuclear, and regulatory requirements.

You'll guide a quality team across manufacturing and engineering, driving continuous improvement, traceability, and compliance with safety and environmental standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent required.
• ISO certification experience highly preferred.
• Level III NDE qualification required.
• 5–10 years of foundry/manufacturing experience.
• Ability to read drawings and specifications.
• Experience with audits, CAPA, and documentation control.

Responsibilities

• Lead and maintain quality processes supporting ISO, NAVSEA, ASME, and NQA-1 requirements.
• Monitor the effectiveness of quality systems and foundry operations.
• Plan and conduct internal and external audits; manage corrective and preventive actions.
• Review contracts and purchase orders for high-specification customers.
• Coordinate with department leaders to resolve quality and production issues; communicate process improvements.
• Oversee QA engineers, technicians, and NDE personnel; coach the team.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for customers, inspectors, and certifying bodies.
• Maintain complete, accurate documentation and product traceability.

Quality Assurance Manager

Location: Ashland, PA

Pay: $120,000–$140,000, depending on experience

Hours: 7 am – 4 pm Monday – Friday

Lead quality in a high-stakes foundry environment where reliability, safety, and documentation matter. As Quality Assurance Manager, you’ll oversee the quality management system and help ensure cast components meet demanding customer, military, nuclear, and regulatory requirements.

What you’ll do:

• Plan and conduct internal and external audits; manage corrective and preventive actions.
  
• Review contracts and purchase orders for advanced products and high-specification customers.
  
• Coordinate with department leaders to resolve quality and production issues and communicate process improvements.
  
• Oversee quality assurance engineers, technicians, and NDE personnel; coach and develop the team.
  
• Serve as a primary point of contact for customers, inspectors, contractors, and certifying bodies.
  
• Maintain complete, accurate documentation and product traceability.
  
• Promote safe work practices and compliance with environmental and safety requirements.

What you’ll bring:

• A bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  
• ISO certification experience and Level III NDE qualification.
  
• 5 – 10 years of Relevant foundry or manufacturing experience.
  
• Knowledge of metallurgy, alloy behavior, casting defects, material certification, and NDE methods.
  
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and contract requirements.
  
• Experience preparing or reviewing quality plans, inspection and test plans, and NDE procedures.
  
• Strength in audits, corrective and preventive action, documentation control, and cross-functional problem-solving.
  
• Clear communication skills and the ability to lead, mentor, and work effectively in a highly scrutinized environment.
  
• Skilled in people and systems management
