Job summary

PowerSecure, a Southern Company subsidiary, seeks a Quality Assurance Manager to lead the QA team and drive the Quality Management System across manufacturing. You will develop, implement and maintain QMS, ensure ISO 9001 compliance, and deliver measurable improvements in defects per unit while coordinating with Engineering and Production leadership.

You will mentor staff, manage audits and nonconformances, and foster continuous improvement across the shop floor and sites in Durham area.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, quality management or related field.
• 10+ years of directly related Quality Experience.
• Strong knowledge of quality management systems and standards.
• Professional certification in QA or QM preferred.
• ISO 9001 knowledge; experience as an auditor preferred.
• Experience with manufacturing ERP systems (SAP or IFS preferred).
• Ability to read and communicate in English.

Responsibilities

• Lead the QA team in development, implementation and execution of QMS.
• Develop, implement and maintain QMS, including documents and metrics.
• Manage quality performance reports and cross-functional communication.
• Lead audits, 8D actions, root cause and trend analyses.
• Enforce QA/QC policies; respond to nonconformances and field issues.
• Drive continuous improvement and DPU reductions with cross-functional teams.
• Coach and develop QA staff; set goals and manage performance.
