Job summary

McHugh Construction is seeking a Quality Control Manager to lead the quality culture on projects and drive improvements. You will benchmark quality practices with the team and support the project quality program to positively impact project profitability.

You will report to the Quality Control Director and oversee QA/QC across multiple projects, coordinating with Superintendents, Project Engineers and Project Managers. Strong leadership and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management or related field.
• 5+ years in construction industry as a professional.
• Experience as a quality engineer/manager preferred.
• Progression in construction project management with increasing responsibilities.
• Experience with building projects including commercial, residential, retail and education, and/or industrial projects.
• Strong written and verbal communication and public speaking skills.
• Technical expertise with building enclosures and/or mechanical systems desirable.
• Ability to communicate with project executives, management, and field staff.
• Strong organizational and technical writing skills.
• Ability to present quality benchmarking results to teams and senior management.
• Strong skills in developing training materials, inspection checklists and related documents.
• Excellent leadership and problem-solving abilities.
• Passion for quality management.
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, Procore and basic database management.

Responsibilities

• Quality assurance and control for multiple projects.
• Conduct proactive field assessments to reduce quality risks.
• Ensure products and installations meet contract documents and manufacturer requirements.
• Issue nonconformance reports and follow up on corrective actions.
• Assist Quality Director with training for the quality program.
• Support Warranty Department during the 12-month warranty period.
• Recommend changes to protocols or procedures based on field reviews.
• Promote quality assurance awareness and training.
• Support development and updating of Site-Specific Quality Plans.
• Assist with quality/testing/mock-up plans to improve operations.
