Job summary

Conagra Brands in Council Bluffs, IA, is seeking a Quality Assurance Supervisor on 3rd shift to guide QA technicians and associates. You will support quality, food safety and sanitation programs through audits, training, pest control, product inspection, and collaboration with Operations, Logistics and Maintenance.

You will ensure compliance with quality systems and policies, address customer quality concerns, and help manage control points in HACCP plans while maintaining GMPs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Microbiology, Chemistry, Food Science or a related field.
• 3 to 5 years of related experience, preferably within the food industry.
• Comprehensive knowledge of food safety guidelines, Good Manufacturing Practices and safe work practices and procedures.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point plans.
• Knowledge of Food and Drug Administration and United States Department of Agriculture regulations.
• Familiarity with Total Productive Maintenance fundamentals.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate quality assurance activities (e.g., audits, training, sampling, pre-operational inspections, etc.)
• Provide technical guidance and training to Quality Assurance and cross-functional team members.
• Monitor and verify critical control points within HACCP plans while following established policies and procedures.
• Conduct GMP and Sanitation audits throughout production and warehouse areas.
• Partner with Operations personnel to address quality and food safety issues.
• Verify operational control systems are functioning and established procedures are followed.
• Place product on hold as appropriate while following established policies and procedures.
• Evaluate damaged products and support appropriate disposition.
• Coordinate the resolution of customer complaints as needed.
• Ensure statistical process control management practices are followed.
• Complete analytical reviews of products.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
