Job summary

Vermeer is seeking a detail-oriented inspector to ensure products meet quality standards on the first shift. You will oversee in-process and end-of-line inspections to ensure conformity with Vermeer specifications.

Responsibilities include gauging conformance, documenting defects, coordinating testing, and communicating performance to production for continuous improvement. A two-year degree or equivalent experience is preferred, with coursework in CAD and MS Office helpful.

Qualifications

• Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or equivalent work experience, preferred.
• Minimum six months of related experience and/or training.
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret standards, tolerances, and production specifications.
• Effective communication with internal and external customers.
• Ability to calculate figures using fractions, percentages, and ratios.

Responsibilities

• Gauge conformance to product specifications via in-process and end-of-line inspections.
• Document non-conformances and defects; return non-conforming products to suppliers and request corrective action.
• Communicate performance to production areas for awareness and improvement.
• Execute guided inspection, ship hold, and hold-for-disposition processes.
• Coordinate internal inspection and testing.
• Collaborate with production and other functions to investigate issues and support root cause analysis.
