Job summary

Amcor Rigid Packaging in Nicholasville, KY is seeking a Quality Assurance Inspector to perform inspections and testing of products to ensure quality standards are met. You will identify and report actual or potential quality issues, place suspect products on hold, and communicate findings to necessary personnel.

This role requires standing up to 11 hours, lifting up to 50 lbs, and flexibility for 12-hour shifts on weekends.

Qualifications

• Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent; some post-secondary education preferred.
• Interpersonal Skills: Strong written and verbal communication; ability to read and interpret reports, emails, and memos.
• Technical Skills: Strong mathematical ability; perform calculations like averages, sums, and spec limits; can learn MS Office, RealSPC, SAP.
• Other Requirements: Able to interpret instructions, use independent judgment, and make decisions under production pressure; flexible for 12-hour shifts, weekends, and schedule adjustments.
• Physical Requirements: Stand/walk up to 11 hours per shift; lift/carry up to 50 lbs.; push/pull up to 900 lbs. with hydraulic jack; frequent bending.
• Licenses: Valid forklift license or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Meet targets in safety, quality, production, performance, and cost.
• Follow safety rules, wear PPE, identify safety concerns.
• Complete CBTs and BSOs by deadlines.
• Adhere to GMP policies and understand AIB guidelines.
• Collect product samples for evaluation, testing and data recording.
• Enter data into SPC software, analyze trends and identify quality issues.
• Place non-conforming products on hold (HFI) and escalate to QA Manager and Shift Supervisor.
• Communicate findings to internal teams and stakeholders.
• Understand finished product specifications, packaging requirements and quality expectations.
• Mix and test bottle lubricants to ensure proper application and results.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
