Singer Vehicle Design in Torrance, CA is seeking a Quality Assurance Inspector to ensure every component meets our exacting standards. The role involves dimensional inspections, body inspections, and in-process checks, with a focus on safe, accurate release of vehicles to the next stage.

The position is Monday–Friday, 5am–1:30pm with overtime. Starting pay ranges from $26 to $38 per hour plus bonus, with comprehensive benefits to support employees and families.

Qualifications

• High school diploma with 2–4 years of relevant work experience.
• Knowledge of the entire vehicle highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform dimensional inspection of parts, components, subassemblies, and assemblies for conformance to blueprints and specs.
• Perform quality inspections during and after surfacing and paint processes.
• Verify all required processes have been completed before releasing vehicle to next step.
• Track quality issues in nonconformance ticketing system and follow up with owners.
• Prepare and communicate inspection reports and quality levels with teams.
• Support Planning/Scheduling, Engineering, Procurement, and Assembly teams.

• Perform inspection of vehicles and vehicle components in a manner that demonstrates, “Everything is Important.”
• Develop and establish inspection standards/work instructions and inspection plan
• Support in-process inspection objectives by ensuring a stable and consistent workflow and resolving issues in a participative, proactive, and positive manner

What You’ll Do:

• Perform dimensional inspection of parts, components, subassemblies, and assemblies for conformance to blueprints, engineering specifications, and Customer requirements
• Additional inspection responsibilities may include performing body inspections of vehicles and vehicle components as required in accordance with Singer standards and operating procedures including but not limited to:
• Performing quality inspections during and after surfacing and paint processes
• Performing quality inspections prior to or during assembly processes
• Verifying all required processes have been completed before releasing vehicle to next process step
• Track quality issues into Singer’s nonconformance ticketing system and follow up on action items with action owners
• Develop process maps
• Use a variety of precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, comparators, and gauging equipment
• Prepare and communicate inspection reports and communicate quality levels with the relevant internal and external teams
• Support Planning/Scheduling, Engineering, Procurement, and Assembly teams
• Responsible for work area safety and cleanliness
• Follow relevant processes and procedures
• Perform other duties as assigned

Who We’re Looking For:

• High school diploma with two (2) to four (4) years of relevant work experience
• Bonus points for prior experience in a rapid growth environment
• Knowledge of the entire vehicle highly preferred
• High attention to detail
• Effective written and verbal communications skills; ability to express ideas clearly and actively listen to others
• Team oriented, with a strong ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment to multiple deadlines
• Excellent time management with an ability to balance multiple projects and timelines and meet deadlines
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and collaborative skills with the ability to prioritize efficiently and effectively within and across departments
• Computer literate including emails, Excel, and other programs
• Positive attitude and strong work ethic

Location & Schedule:

This position Is based in Torrance, CA and the schedule is Monday – Friday 5am – 1:30pm with overtime.
