Job Description

Large Northbrook-based automotive manufacturer specializing in CNC and multi-spindle precision machining is seeking a Quality Assurance Inspector.

Responsibilities:

• Choose and check calibration of inspection equipment such as gauges, micrometers, calipers, etc.
• Inspect first parts against measurements indicated on prints and verify acceptable tolerances.
• Indicate completed inspections on corresponding records.
• Complete all related paperwork, including inspection records.
• Contribute to team, company, and QS goals by initiating continuous improvement and working effectively with other employees and departments.
• Follow all written and oral instructions.
• Perform First Piece Inspection, PPAP Layout, incoming and final inspection.
• Use measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, optical comparator, profilometer, height gauges, test indicators, and go/no-go gauges.
• Understand types of measurement, measurement terminology, and standard measurement instruments.
• Read and interpret blueprints, understanding critical, major, and minor characteristics.
• Possess strong communication and team-building skills.
