Job description

Overview

The Quality Assurance Inspector (QAI) is a full-time onsite position at the production plant in Houston, Texas (77017 & 77075). The QAI reports directly to the Production Manager and VP of Modular for daily activities, and to the Director of Quality Assurance and Safety for safety or quality assurance-related corporate matters. The QAI will assist the Production Manager as a secondary responsibility to QA and Safety.

The QAI is a full-time, 40-hour per week employee, on-site 8am - 5pm, or similar. During 24-hour production periods, work hours may adjust to meet production needs.

The QAI must have transportation to and from work and meet physical requirements, including working in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Inspect products before, during, and after manufacturing.
• Monitor production processes to ensure standards are met.
• Recommend process improvements and operate inspection equipment.
• Identify defects, suggest corrective actions, and maintain inspection records.
• Provide feedback to production teams and management.
• Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards.
• Examine containers, materials, and products for specifications.
• Document inspections and prepare quality control reports.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Knowledge of statistical process control, lean manufacturing, and testing protocols.
• Ability to analyze data and identify trends.
• Effective communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook).
• Ability to work independently or in a team with limited supervision.

Physical Demands

• Manual dexterity, visual, auditory acuity.
• Repetitive motions, sitting, standing, lifting up to 30 pounds.
• Work in temperatures between 30-90°F.
