Job Summary:

The Quality Assurance Engineer will conduct automated and manual testing of web and mobile applications to ensure product releases meet or exceed quality standards. Duties include reviewing functional requirements and technical requirements and conducting testing for issues, enhancements, and major releases. The Quality Assurance Engineer will participate in the creation of test plans and execute test plans. This role will also participate in creation and execution of automation tests.

As a Quality Assurance Engineer, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Reviewing requirements, specifications and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback
  • Creating and executing detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases
  • Recording and documenting results and comparing to expected results
  • Identifying, recording, documenting and tracking bugs
  • Estimating, prioritizing, planning and coordinating testing activities
  • Designing, developing and executing automation scripts using open source tools
  • Performing thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved
  • Verifying specific action or function of code
  • Developing and applying testing processes for new and existing products to meet client needs
  • Collaborating with internal teams (including project managers, business analysts, developers and product managers) to identify system requirements
  • Monitoring debugging process results
  • Tracking quality assurance metrics, like defect densities and open defect counts
  • Staying up-to-date with new testing tools and test strategies

Here’s what you’ll need to be successful in this role:

  • Bachelors of science in computer science or equivalent on-the-job experience
  • Software quality assurance experience working in an agile/scrum development environment
  • Experience with continuous testing and the CI/CD pipeline
  • Knowledge of general software QA methodologies, tools, and processes
  • Ability to write clear, concise and comprehensive test plans and test cases
  • White box and black box testing experience as well as experience with automated testing tools
  • Experience with performance and security testing a plus

Work Environment and Company Benefits:

This is a virtual, full-time position. You will work remotely from your home office, and occasional travel may be required for meetings, trade shows and training.

Salary:

The salary range listed reflects the total on target earnings for this position (base salary plus bonus).
