Job summary

Velo3D in Fremont, CA is seeking a QA Engineer to design tests for our desktop tools used in 3D printing, validate features, and ensure release readiness.

You will collaborate with applications engineers and devops to automate tests, reproduce and triage bugs, and drive the desktop tools release process.

2-3 years of experience preferred; familiarity with Qt applications and CAD-like desktop apps is a plus.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of experience in QA testing or validation for desktop software.
• Experience designing tests for and testing desktop software or 3D printing workflows.
• Familiarity with CAD-like desktop apps and using software tools with technical users.
• Experience collaborating with software engineers and developers to reproduce and triage bugs.

Job description

• We develop a suite of tools to prepare, validate and monitor jobs for our 3D printers
• These tools present users with a 3D view of the CAD models, allow them to add supports and other markup, show the resulting print instructions and help monitor long running compute processes to prepare the files
• We need a QA Engineer who is able to design tests from the perspective of a 3D printing applications engineer and consistently implement those tests as part of our validation and release processes
• Additional responsibilities will include coordinating and driving our release process and working with our dev ops and software engineering teammates to automate tests that can be automated
• Design and implement test plans for testing out desktop tools
• Work with applications engineers to reproduce and triage bugs
• Drive the release process for our desktop tools
