Job summary

Voltage Energy in Timberlake, NC is seeking a hands-on QA Engineer to support quality systems in a high-volume wire harness and cable assembly manufacturing environment. You will drive defect reduction, improve processes, and ensure customer satisfaction on the factory floor.

You will lead QMS improvements, perform PPAP, APQP, CAPA, and SPC activities, read GD&T, analyze data, and collaborate with Production, Engineering, and Supply Chain to raise quality performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or related field.
• 3+ years of quality engineering in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with production quality systems and process improvement initiatives.
• Background in wire & cable, harness assembly, or similar manufacturing processes preferred.
• Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards.
• Experience with PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA, and CAPA methodologies.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; ERP experience (SAP preferred).

Responsibilities

• Support and improve the Quality Management System (QMS).
• Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and customer quality standards.
• Assist with quality documentation, procedures, and work instructions.
• Support APQP activities and PPAP submissions.
• Provide quality engineering support across wire processing, harness assembly, and related manufacturing processes.
• Monitor incoming, in-process, and final inspections to maintain product quality.
• Support process validation, equipment qualification, and new product introduction efforts.
• Implement process controls and statistical monitoring methods (SPC).
• Lead and support root cause investigations using tools such as 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, and CAPA.
• Analyze production data to identify trends and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Reduce scrap, improve yield, and implement defect prevention strategies.
• Investigate customer complaints and lead corrective actions.
• Support internal, customer, and third-party audits.
• Collaborate with Production, Engineering, and Supply Chain teams to improve quality performance.
• Train operators on quality standards and best practices.

About the Role
