Job summary

Moog in Johnson City, TN seeks a Quality Assurance Manager to lead the QA organization onsite. You will report to the Site Manager and drive quality initiatives across manufacturing, auditing, and supplier interfaces.

The role emphasizes sustaining ISO/AS9100 compliance, RCCA-driven improvements, and collaboration with design, manufacturing, and engineering teams to meet customer expectations and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or technical field
• 5 years in a hands-on quality role within manufacturing
• 2 years in management/leadership in manufacturing
• Experience with ISO 9001 and AS9100 audits
• Experience with RCCA (Root Cause Corrective Action)
• Experience with budgets and communicating with stakeholders
• Understanding of Quality Management System requirements
• Willingness to travel ~5% of time

Responsibilities

• Ensure 100% product quality through collaboration and best practices across levels
• Maintain QMS compliance with AS9100/ISO9001
• Engage customers through effective QA-related communications
• Report KPIs that improve customer satisfaction and financial performance
• Provide framework to support the Quality Management System and QA personnel
• Oversee Johnson City QA staff and Lean continuous improvement practices
• Reduce scrap, rework, and quality escapes to customers
• Coordinate warranties, repairs, and design changes with engineering teams
• Develop quality engineers to support business goals
• Daily interface with production and offshore operations on QA issues
• Perform other responsibilities as assigned

Our team in Space & Defense is looking for a Quality Assurance Manager to join them. You will report to the Site Manager and will have an onsite work schedule in Johnson City, TN.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree; Engineering or another technical discipline preferred.
• 5 years of experience in a hands on quality-related role within a manufacturing environment.
• 2 years of management and/or related leadership experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with ISO9001and AS9100 compliance standards- conduct internal and external audits.
• Experience with Root cause corrective action RCCA.
• Experience with budgets, calculating risks, managing matrixed environment and ability to communicate with stakeholders.
• Thorough understanding of the requirements necessary to maintain an effective Quality Management System (QMS).
• Willingness and ability to travel approximately 5% to support business needs.

Responsibilities

• Assure 100% Product quality to customer through collaborating and consultancy with peers and functional leaders to establish best practices and by sharing the "Quality First" message across all levels.
• Ensure the Quality Management System is compliant to 3rd party regulatory agencies such as AS9100/ISO9001
• Ensure and promote customer engagement through effective communication and interactions including for manufacturing and quality related content such as Failure Analysis and Root Cause and Corrective Actions.
• Report Key Process Indicators that improve customer satisfaction and financial performance including being an agent for continuous improvement.
• Accountable for the framework necessary to support the Quality Management System. This includes Quality personnel specific accountabilities and maintaining procedural methods, in accordance with AS9100 & ISO9001.
• Oversee the activity of the Johnson City Quality Engineering staff & the incorporation of organizational excellence through Lean practices and continuous improvement tool usage.
• Responsible for team oversight and direction towards reduction in scrap cost, rework cost and quality escapes to customers.
• Manage/oversee Product Warrantees, Repair Team, new design releases with Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering, Tool Design, and Technical Writing staff and implement the necessary protocols for achieving the customer's contractual expectations.
• Develop Quality Engineers to better achieve business goals in addition to individual career development.
• Daily interface with Production Supervisors, Operators, Operations Support, and multiple offshore operations on production/quality related issues.
• Perform other responsibilities as assigned to support business operations

Salary Range Transparency: Johnson City, TN $80,000.00-$110,000.00 Annually
