Job summary

WFI International in Houston is seeking a Quality Engineer to assist the Quality Assurance Manager in establishing, implementing, and continually improving the Quality Management System.

The role requires interfacing with Sales, Materials, Engineering, Production and Customers to understand and meet requirements, and to drive corrective actions and documentation such as ITPs and MPS. ISO-9001 experience is important.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Quality, or Industrial Engineering preferred.
• 5–10 years related manufacturing experience with reading technical requirements.
• Experience under ISO-9001 certified QMS or similar standard required.
• Nuclear materials experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Interface with Sales, Materials, Engineering, Production and Customers to ensure requirements and expectations are understood and satisfied.
• Support the Quality Inspectors to ensure products and processes meet customer and QMS requirements.
• Resolve and prevent recurrence of quality issues related to product, process, and quality system requirements.
• Develop and maintain project quality documentation such as ITPs and MPS and related records.
• Support planning and management of all project quality activities including release of instructions to production and QC personnel.
• Analyze need for and manage corrective actions for process concerns and product nonconformances using appropriate tools.
• Assist in development and maintenance of QMS procedures.

Education

High School Diploma or GED

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Quality, or Industrial Engineering

5-10 years related experience in manufacturing

ISO-9001 QMS experience

Nuclear materials experience a plus
