1. Occupational Summary (Position Objective & Authorities)

Objective:
Support the quality department by ensuring products and processes, both internal and external, conform to applicable drawings, technical specifications, regulations and customer requirements. Drive activities required to meet cost, quality, inventory, delivery and cycle time objectives throughout the production cycle. Measure performance, collaborate to develop process and product improvement plans, and enforce action measures as necessary to achieve business objectives. Works under regular supervision on moderately complex tasks.

2. Essential Functions (Duties and Responsibilities)

Main Function Responsibilities:

Product realization process-
• Assure shipment of product which meets the customer requirements - ship a product free of defects.
• Assure the product-process control according to the customer and company specifications.
• Define, monitor and evaluate the effectivity of quality plans and practices and maintain, follow up and control QRQC process.
• Collect, analyze and oversee data entry on relevant quality performance indicators, manage quality through quality data using quality tools such as Etq and QMS.
• Make qualitative decisions on part conformity with SAFRAN applicable Quality requirements.

Corrective and preventive action process / Problem Solving-
• Document and follow-up internal and external corrective actions and verify its effectiveness.
• Lead/Co-Lead technical root cause and corrective action processes to resolve issues.
• Maintain the CA/PA system for internal, external quality issues as required.

Customer Concerns / Complaints-
• Work and support PQE's on the Customer concern regarding product quality. Issues, attend Customer Concern Review Board meetings as necessary or required
• Ensure all CAPA analysis and actions are adequate to address the reported conditions.

APQP Support-
• Perform FAI/PPAP when required.
• Support, elaborate and maintain PFMEA and Control plans to ensure failure-free products and continual improvement.
• Support creation and maintenance of Process Flow Diagram (PFD).
• Support Design Engineering on APQP related industrialization requirements.
• Perform Validation of new components, processes and tools as required.

Complementary Description

Support the documentation and records control process-
• Generate, review, implement and maintain IMS documentation of quality department, work instructions, formats, etc.
• Review and approve technical and performance specifications, quality documents and instructions.

Support the training process-
• Provide on the job training as needed on quality criteria, customer complaints, etc.
• Co-lead with process engineering team, as required to develop/update/improve training modules and support for trainers.

Support material acquisition/receiving inspection process-
• Investigate and disposition production and supplier non-conformance requests, provide feedback to the appropriate functions with evidence of nonconformity and drive and support internal actions to mitigate issues impact.
• Support on components FAI process to receiving inspection as required.

Support the continuous improvement process-
• Actively support the company continuous improvement initiatives and ensure Continuous Improvement objectives.
• Lead continuous improvement projects to reach established goals and go beyond.

Support the audit process-
• Perform internal audits (process, product and flash audits) and provide objective feedback based on audit findings.
• Support all required audit (customer, internal, external, etc.).

• Perform other duties as assigned by the direct manager.

Job Requirements

3. Qualification Requirements

A. Education & Qualification-
• Must have a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or related technical field or 12 years equivalent related experience in lieu of degree.
• Industrial Bachelor degree or 12 years of equivalent engineering.

B. Work Experience - Technical knowledge
Level 1-
• Prefer 1 year experience in aerospace industry or equivalent in engineering, or quality positions.
• Basic knowledge in Implementation of Continuous Improvement.
• Basic knowledge of RCCA.
• Basic understanding of AS9100, APQP.
• Must be able to read and interpret average to complex blueprints, drawings, diagrams, tolerance information and procedure manuals.

C. Professional Skills-
Level 1-
• Ability to solve basic problems and think strategically.
• Ability to generate and analyze basic data utilizing the MS office tools.
• Must be able to work cross functionally.
• Must have the ability to generate written communication and operate required office equipment.
• Ability to read and review written communication with the abilities that allow individuals to communicate clearly and distinctly in English.

D. Behavioral Skills-
Level 1
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

E. Desirable Aspects-
• Autonomy and diligence.
• Lean fundamentals, or Certified Green or Black belt.
• Spanish and French are a plus.
